DERMATOLOGY CONSULTATION FEES
Updated Fee Schedule - Effective 1 October 2026
Consultation and procedural fees will be updated. The revised fee structure reflects the time, expertise and clinical complexity involved in providing comprehensive specialist dermatological care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing management.
We have introduced different consultation categories to more accurately reflect the complexity and time involved in each consultation. This is intended to provide greater transparency around our fees and ensure that patients understand the likely cost of their appointment before attending.
The updated fees are outlined below:
1. NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENTS
New Appointment
Standard- Consultation regarding one primary issue, such as hair loss, eczema or another single dermatological concern. Consultation of 15 minutes or less.
New Appointment
Complex / Multiple Issues- Consultation involving more than one issue, such as a skin check and hair loss, eczema, psoriasis or fungal nails. Fee applies irrespective of consultation duration.
New Appointment
Long- Consultation extending beyond 40 minutes, whether addressing a single issue or multiple issues.
If you have multiple concerns that you would like to discuss, please request a 30-minute appointment when booking.
A patient who has not seen a dermatologist at our clinic for more than 13 months will be considered a new patient for fee purposes.
Medicare rebate — New Appointments
Where you have a valid referral and are eligible for a Medicare benefit, the Medicare rebate for a standard specialist consultation is approximately $88, subject to your individual Medicare eligibility and the applicable Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item.
Medicare rebates are determined by the Australian Government and may change independently of our fees.
2. FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS
Follow-up Appointment
Standard- Consultation regarding one primary issue, such as hair loss or eczema.
Follow-up Appointment
Complex / Multiple Issues- Consultation involving more than one issue, such as hair loss and eczema. Fee applies irrespective of consultation duration.
Follow-up Appointment
Long- Consultation extending beyond 20 minutes, whether addressing a single issue or multiple issues.
Spot Check
- Assessment of a lesion of concern or re-imaging requested by doctor.
Follow-up Wart Treament
- Follow-up treatment of warts.

Medicare rebate — Follow-up Appointments
Where you have a valid referral and are eligible for a Medicare benefit, the Medicare rebate for a standard referred follow-up specialist consultation is approximately $44, subject to your individual Medicare eligibility and the applicable Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item.
3. PROCEDURE FEES
Procedures performed during a consultation attract an additional fee to the consultation fee.
Examples of procedural fees are outlined below:

* Medicare rebates are approximate only and depend on the applicable MBS item, Medicare eligibility and individual circumstances. Medicare benefits are subject to change by the Australian Government.
4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The above fees apply from 1 October 2026 and will remain in place until further notice. The fee schedule will be reviewed and may be revised during the next financial year.
Where possible, our reception staff will advise you of the likely consultation category and applicable fees when your appointment is booked. However, the final consultation category may depend on the number and complexity of issues discussed and the time required to provide appropriate specialist care.
If you have multiple concerns, please let our reception staff know when booking so that sufficient appointment time can be allocated.
We understand that changes to medical fees are important, and we encourage you to speak with our staff if you have any questions about the fees, expected Medicare rebate or likely out-of-pocket cost before your appointment.
